How to install Windows 10 in 8 easy steps




You’ve decided to download Windows 10, but how do you actually install it? The process of installing Windows 10 on a PC or laptop can be somewhat complicated if you’re not prepared, so I’ve broken down the entire process into 8 simple steps that will help you get through it as smoothly as possible. Follow these steps and before you know it, you’ll have Windows 10 running on your computer just like the professionals do!


Before you start

Start by downloading Windows 10 from Microsoft's website. When prompted, insert a USB drive of at least 3 GB or more into your computer's USB port. 

Next, use the USB drive to run setup.exe on your PC and follow the prompts until it completes.


Check compatibility

Before starting the installation process, it's important to make sure your computer can run Windows 10. You can check compatibility by looking at your system requirements on Microsoft's website. Once you know that your laptop is compatible, you're ready for step one!


Create a backup

If you're going to be installing Windows 10 on a laptop, it's important to make sure you have a backup of any personal data on the laptop. This way, if anything goes wrong with the installation process or if your laptop needs servicing afterward, you'll still have access to your personal data.


Download Windows 10

1. Click the Download tool now button below and choose your language. 

2. Save the file on your computer and extract it using an archive manager, like WinRAR or 7-Zip. 

3. Run setup.exe from the extracted files and follow the on-screen instructions for installation options, such as installing alongside other versions of Windows or assigning a drive letter to the new partition.

Activate Windows 10

1) Download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website. 2) Insert a USB drive with at least 4GB of storage and create a recovery USB drive. 3) Run the Media Creation Tool, select 'Upgrade this PC now, and click Next.


Customize your settings

1. Download the Windows 10 installation media on a USB drive by following this guide. 2. Create a bootable USB stick with Rufus 3. Choose to Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC and select your preferred language, edition of Windows, and architecture type 4. Click Next 5. When you are presented with the following screen, choose your USB flash drive and click next 6. Click next 7.


Get started with Microsoft Edge

- Before you can download and install Windows 10, you need a compatible laptop or desktop computer. You can use Microsoft's free compatibility checker to see if your current computer has the right components. If it does, continue reading these instructions.
